Where are my documents?
Question:
A user asks -- where are my documents now that I've migrated to the network?
Answer:
The Microsoft Office 7 applications (Word and Excel) have
been installed to use the MYDOCS folder on your F:\ drive as the default
location for your files.
Documents you copied to the C:\MIGRATE directory on your
PC were moved to your F:\MIGRATE folder on the GWUMC Enterprise network.
To use the F:\MIGRATE folder (for example, to open a file
in Word):
- Choose File on the menu, then choose Open
- Click the "Up One Level" button,
highlight the "MIGRATE" folder icon, then click the Open button.
- If your files are not displayed, you will need to change
the "Files of Type" box (at the bottom left of the dialog screen) to "All
Files (*.*)". (Your migrated documents are not using the applications' default
file extension - DOC.)
- Once you locate your document, click on it to highlight it, then click the Open button.
