GroupWise Notify
Question:
P.G. asks -- can I have GroupWise notify me whenever I receive a message?
Answer:
YES, just do the following steps.
- To turn-on GroupWise Notify:
- Click the Start button on the Windows
95 taskbar,
- Highlight Programs,
- Highlight GroupWise 5,
- Then click GroupWise Notify.
- An icon of a globe will appear on the right-hand
side of the Windows 95 taskbar. When you receive a new e-mail
message, an envelope is displayed overlaying the globe icon.
- You are notified via a window in the upper, left-hand
corner of your screen whenever you receive a new mail message.
- This notification feature will remain active
until you sign-off the network or until you shut down your PC.
- To automatically start GroupWise Notify whenever
you sign-on to the Enterprise Network:
- Right-click
on the Windows 95 taskbar,
- Click Properties,
- Click the Start Menu Programs tab,
- Click the Add button,
- Type "C:\NOVELL\GROUPWISE\NOTIFY.EXE"
(do not include the quotation marks),
- Click the Next button,
- Scroll down to locate
the "StartUp" folder icon,
- click to highlight the StartUp folder icon,
- Click the Next button,
- type "Notify" (do not include
the quotation marks),
- Then press the Finish button.
- The GroupWise Notify feature will install automatically
whenever you sign-in to the Enterprise Network.
- Placing Notify in your StartUp folder will increase
the time it takes to log onto the Enterprise Network. On slower
PC's (those with a 486 chip) the time increase may be significant.
