Michael Murphy is the Chief of Operations for Rockland Paramedic Services, which is a large ALS first response organization in suburban New York. He has been in EMS for 30 years, 23 as a Paramedic; is an ICU and ED RN; and has worked for 15 years as a field paramedic in the New York City EMS system in Brooklyn, NY.
Murphy is also a member of the New York State EMS Regional Faculty, Academic Coordinator for the NY Methodist Paramedic Training Program, Chairman of the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Training Committee, and Chairman of the EMS Committee for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs
Murphy was awarded the William J. Grace award from St. Vincent’s Medical Center, NY in 1983, the NYC-EMS Medal of Honor in 1987, and is a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security NDMS.
