John Roquemore, Jr. serves as the EMS-Program Compliance Specialist for Jefferson Parish. Louisiana. As the regulatory authority, he certifies EMT‘s and Paramedics, as well as EMS units to operate in accordance with local, State and Federal laws.
Previously, Roquemore served NAEMT as President, Vice President, Secretary and three terms on the NAEMT Executive Council/Board of Directors. He has also served terms as the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Board member of Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMT's (LANREMT). In January of 2006, he was awarded his “Life Membership” for 20 years of service to LANREMT. Roquemore continues to maintain his membership in his local EMT association as their Treasurer, a position that he has held for over 15 years.
In addition to his work with NAEMT and LANREMT, Roquemore serves on the National EMS Memorial Service Advisory Council and as one of its Regional Coordinators. A volunteer fireman, he is completing his 20th year of membership and has achieved “Life Membership” within his department in 2005.
In 1996 he received both the Robert E. Motley National EMT of the Year Award as well as the Louisiana EMT of the Year Award.
