Doug Wolfberg is a founding partner of Page, Wolfberg & Wirth, LLC (“PWW”), a national law firm which solely represents EMS, ambulance and medical transportation organizations in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. The firm also represents ambulance billing companies, EMS software manufacturers, trade associations and many other types of agencies that serve the nation’s ambulance industry.
Prior to his career as an attorney, Wolfberg was an EMS provider and administrator, serving at the county, regional, statewide and Federal levels, including the United States Department of Health and Human Services. He is a member of the JEMS editorial board and is a regular columnist in the EMS Insider. Along with Steve Wirth, he is also the co-author of the industry’s leading book on HIPAA compliance, “The Ambulance Service Guide to HIPAA Compliance,” now in its Third Edition, and “The Ambulance Service HIPAA Privacy and Security Training Video” – the ambulance industry’s leading HIPAA training program. From 2000-2003 Wolfberg served as a Commissioner of the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
Wolfberg is a graduate of Penn State University and Widener University School of Law, where he received his law degree with high honors, graduating magna cum laude. He holds academic appointments as faculty at the Widener University School of Law; George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences; and the University of Pittsburgh.
